Milverton music history Thanks to your support we are celebrating our 29th year providing top quality live music

Many years ago in a back room at the
Globe Inn Milverton five friends played music every Wednesday evening.  As the popularity of the sessions grew they decided that a more structured outlet was needed for their musical talents and those of fellow musicians in the area. There are after all, only so many times you can play a twelve - bar - blues or  "Streets of London" good songs though they are.

To avoid the 'folk', 'jazz' or 'blues' label we decided to form an acoustic music club, and because the Globe didn't have the space, we began in the upper room at the White Hart Inn, (now a private dwelling) on the first Friday of the month. On the first night our wives made up the audience. The second night, our wives and friends, six months later we moved to a bigger venue at the back of the pub where the club continued to grow both in numbers and reputation.

In 1998 after 2 very successful years we moved from the White Hart to the Victoria Rooms. We always attract a large and very supportive audience for our First Friday Nights. They come from a wide area including Taunton, Tiverton Wellington, Exeter, Minehead, Bridgwater, Yeovil. BAR provided only on the guest nights, but on our 'First Friday' sessions, singers and the audience are asked to please bring their favourite tipple. Some folks even bring their supper.
