Club history     (Thanks to your support we are now in our 12th year)

In a back room at the Globe Inn Milverton five friends played music every Wednesday evening.  As the popularity of the sessions grew they decided that a more structured outlet for both their musical talents and those of  fellow musicians in the area was needed. There is after all, only so many times you can play 12 bar blues or  "Streets of London" good song though it is.

To avoid the 'folk' 'jazz' or 'blues' label we decided to form a musicians club, and because the Globe didn't have the space, the club began in the upper room at the White Hart, on the first Friday of the month. On the first night wives made up the audience. The second session, wives and friends, six months later we moved to a bigger venue at the back of the pub.

In 1998 after 2 very successful years the Club moved from the White Hart to the Victoria Rooms. We regularly attract large audiences for our First Friday Nights. Many from around the village but the remainder from a wide area including Taunton, Wellington, Exeter, Minehead, Bridport, Dorchester, Bridgwater & Yeovil.

There is a licence for the guest nights, but club sessions singers and audience are asked to bring their favourite tipple. Special guest nights have featured:-
Vin Garbutt, Ralph McTell, Allan Taylor, John Renbourn, Jacqui McShee, Show of Hands, Mary Flower, Michael Chapman, Davey Graham, Crosscurrent, Johnny Coppin, Gordon Giltrap, Eliza Gilkyson, Robert McEntee, Mike Silver, Eddie Martin Band, Hans Theessink, Five Furious Fish, Gee Baby I Love You, Fatman Swings, Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman, Baka Beyond, Larry Miller, Whiz Jones, Bluze the Band, Howlin at the Moon, Tim van Eyken, Eddie Martin, Jim Crawford, Kevin Brown, Reg Meuross & Phil Beer,
